Edward Win is our first ever Junior Designer at Funkhaus.

We were excited to welcome the UCLA grad to the team this August. From his approach to design and his love of Seinfeld, we knew he’d fit right in.

What do you do at Funkhaus?

I’m supporting the design team on all things design, and a general trendhunter alongside the rest of the Funkhaus team.

What do you listen to while working? While unwinding?

Recently, I’ve been listening to a lot of techno while working – the repetition keeps me focused. While unwinding, I’ll listen to shoegaze sometimes, like Slowdive and My Bloody Valentine. Perfect music to relax with my cat.

What inspires you?

As a designer, it helps to step away from screen to get inspired. I get inspired by going on long runs – it’s energizing and helps me refresh my thoughts. Music is also a huge inspiration for me. It sets the mood for creative thinking and planning.

What excites you about design?

I love how design is always evolving. There are endless ways to make our world more innovative and aesthetically pleasing. It’s exciting to explore those new ideas.

____ is the best place in Los Angeles, because __________.

El Chato is the best place in Los Angeles, because of their late night juicy carne asada burritos.

Anything else you’d like to plug?

Big fan of Seinfeld. I named my pug George after George Costanza.
