Funkhaus was re-approached by STALKR, a longstanding Funkhaus client, to help launch their new platform for sourcing and licensing high-end filmmaking stock footage, STALKRFILM.
A powerful platform with seamless functionality and easy discovery
Building a powerful platform for sifting through thousands of video clips with individual specifications created unique technical challenges. The biggest challenge was integrating the website with STALKR’s Digital Asset Management tool called Iconik. We built a Node application to import that video data from Iconik, transcoded it to web friendly video formats using Amazon Media Convert, and then served those to the website through a custom REST API that we built.
Cinematic quality serving filmmakers and creatives
The STALKRFILM website needed to be part portfolio and part asset library, which meant it needed to feel ‘app like’ with intuitive search functionality. We extended the existing STALKR brand identity that Funkhaus designed in 2016 for this partner venture, characterized by a 'Murder Red’ hit state and the Swiss Classic Brown font on an almost-black background.

Stealth-like simplicity in the craft of the logo and beyond
The original STALKR identity is a sleek, powerful mark that does not require embellishment. This logo is a grown-up evolution of their previous mark. The "K" has been customized to look like a "rewind" button-- a subtle wink to the core business of re-appropriating amazing video from their treasure trove of film archives.
